Everyone is wondering about the new DWI laws as of  July 1, 2011.

Under the new laws, the interlock program (http://www.minnesotaignitioninterlock.org/) will impact even first time offenders.  The new law will allow first time offenders with a BAC under .16 to bypass the previously required 15 day  revocation period, as long as they agree to install the interlock device in their cars.  There are pros and cons to this option, however for some it will be very appealing.

For some people, depending on their BAC or prior DWI’s the interlock program will be required after July 1, 2011.  At the end of June more details will be released regarding other situations and the requirements and benefits of utilizing the interlock program.

Cop’s wife shoots, misses … and hubby takes a walk

May 12, 2011|By JASON NARK, narkj@phillynews.com

All she had to do was aim, squeeze the trigger and pop a bullet into her husband’s leg so that he could get an early retirement.

What could go wrong?

Fortunately and unfortunately, former Camden police Sgt. Jeffrey Frett’s wife is a bad shot. She blew a hole through his uniform pants, a source said, but didn’t even graze him.

Either way, he’s out of a job.

The 40-year-old Turnersville resident pleaded guilty yesterday to making a fake police communication about the incident, which could have been so much worse. According to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, Frett reported over police radio that he had been shot Nov. 30 while on Interstate 676 in Camden.
